In such a vast and rapidly changing information environment, distinguishing truth from falsehood becomes exceptionally difficult. Misinformation not only misleads our understanding but can also impact our decisions and even threaten social stability.
Faced with this reality, we must clearly recognize that information dissemination is not always objective or neutral. In fact, information is often intentionally or unintentionally distorted, exploiting human psychological vulnerabilities. These weaknesses include cognitive biases, emotional drives, stereotypes, and herd mentality. On top of that, digital media algorithms tend to promote more eye-catching content, leading to exaggerations, taking things out of context, and even outright falsehoods.
So, when confronted with shocking, outrageous, or dramatic claims, how can we rationally assess their truthfulness? 1. Reasoning: Is the Chain of Logic Rigorous?
